The little things my boys do and say each and every day, draw my heart out towards them more and more. I love them sooo much and cannot imagine living one day without them. They add so much to our lives and fill our hearts with joy.
This morning, as we sat down to eat biscuits and honey, I said, let's pray and Jackson stopped eating his biscuit and reached out for my hand and then as we said, In Jesus' name, he said, "Ameen!" (with a big exclamation) I love how excited he gets and how proud he is of himself. He's so precious.
Then as we were getting ready, I told the boys that our plans were to go to Target, Home Depot, and the Mall. Matthew looked at me with his big blue eyes and said thoughtfully, "Mommy, I'm gonna get the pennies for the cars at the mall for me and Jack Jack to ride on" then he ran to the bathroom to get the pennies from Jerod's coin jar. I helped him get some quarters for him and Jackson. He was so proud.

Matthew kept his money in his little pocket the whole time in Target and then when we arrived at the mall, he got to put his money in the new ride!

On our walk this afternoon, I was trying to help Jackson learn the importance of walking on the sidewalk and not in the street. He doesn't want help and when I reach my hand out for him to hold my hand, he pulls both hands into his little body and walks on his own demonstrating that he does not need my help. So today, we walked on the railroad ties that line the alley and he knows he needs my help in walking those. He reached out and took my hand. So precious. I love teaching my boys and just being with them.

Lastly, tonight, as I was leaving for work, Matthew climbed out of his booster quickly and came and wrapped his little legs around mine and said, "Oh, Mommy, I love you so much! I wanna walk out to your car and say bye bye."
It's in these moments that my heart is enlarged and when the tough times come, I can reflect on these memories and be encouraged to press on. My mothering is impacting him for the good, and I am thankful for the Lords grace that I don't have to be perfect.
